Alex's Lemonade Stand

This is a great way for your child to learn about helping others.  Alex's Lemonade Stand is a foundation for childhood cancer.

Alexandra ''Alex'' Scott was born on January 18, 1996. Just shy of her first birthday, Alex was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a rare form of cancer. While the Scotts were devastated, Alex was undeterred. Beginning at an early age, she demonstrated she was a fighter - a determined, courageous and confident little girl with big dreams.

In 2000, Alex, then just 4, told her mom she wanted to host a lemonade stand to raise money to help kids like her - kids with cancer. Her first lemonade stand raised $2,000 in one day! Even as she faced illness and difficult treatments, Alex continued to host lemonade stands every year thereafter, until she lost her life to cancer in 2004 at the age of 8. Over those four years of hosting lemonade stands, Alex helped raise $1 million to help find a cure for the disease that she bravely battled for so many years.
